Maps of Mumbai (mostly unplanned), Delhi (little planned, little unplanned) and Chandigarh (planned city in India)

@thor
Doesn't really much harder to land a plane on a watery runaway.

@thor
Though this pic is not from Mumbai airport (It's from Chennai Airport in the total south edge of India). Mumbai gets flooded every Monsoon.

@thor @jeder
All the cities here have just grown out naturally without any planning or anything and also both have slums. This is very contrasting to Philadelphia and Houston.

@thor @jeder
Side carriages for two wheelers are totally extinct here. Jeepnies seems to be a Philippine specific thing though we have this type of SUVs which usually drive from town to villages and back

@thor
I think it was for pulling the baggage trolleys and stuffs.
Saw it on Goa airport.

@thor
The most unusual and funny thing about Indian airports I find is that we ise tractors instead of those specialised airport cars

@thor
This is the perfect definition of India :ablobblewobble:
I don't think it's stereotype, 'people pooping on streets' this is a stereotype.
@jeder

@thor
Mumbai's population density is around 35,000 people per square kilometer.

@thor
Hence we are making the new airport for Mumbai, outside of Mumbai on the mainland :ablobcatangel:
(Currently Mumbai is running on a single runway airport)

@thor @jeder
We are not neat straight line peoples.
We like bending everything, including rules.

@thor @jeder
This is the metro train line map of Delhi (only metro, with regular train lines it would be too complex for any purpose)

@jeder @thor
My towns main public transport is autorickshaws :ablobblewobble:
Rest most of the town people have scooters or motorcycles.

@thor
Not just you expected but Mumbai do it self needs a more dense network which is much more bigger to solve the crowdings. Also the Mumbai metro and monorail have just started in 2018 and they would be expanded to cover the isolared pockets.
At the end the problem with Mumbai remains that it is very very densely populated (2nd most densely populated on earth) city which is surrounded by the sea on three sides so not much room to expand. Hence it is hard to build anything in Mumbai.
