Ofcourse you are welcome but I think for a European living in the sea of water would be better then living in a sea of 1.3 billion people :ablobblastoff:

Americans are the foremost producer of incorrect terms, so that's expected.

Anyway this cha and tea distinction comes from the two ways the tea leaves have traveled through the world. Before the European colonisers entered Asian, the tea export was through the Silk road (land) hence the Mandarin word 'cha' was associated with it and variations of that are now part of the languages of most of Asia and Arabian world(like the Hindi Chai). The European colonisers took tea from the Fujian coasts of China where the Min Han dialect of Chinese is prominent in which rather then 'cha' they use 'te' to refer to tea. That's how half the world calls it like Cha while the other half calls it tea or tee

@RehnSturm256
Chai is not a type of tea.
Chai is just the Hindi(as well as other Indian languages) word for tea.
Even in Japanese tea is referred to as Ocha

@guresuke
Not your fault, I have seen most of the Japan is highly dependent on readymade stuffs and vending machines.
