Well potato is very common to the European diet, during the wars people gave up valuable items to get hands on some potatoes to eat. Also potato farmers were mostly the poor peasants so it shows the forced labourer side of the stuff. Seeing the connection potato to the European history and especially the dark and sad parts of the history which are showcased by the phrase 'in the ass'

The rainy season here is from June to October when it rains kinda without stopping very heavily, especially in the Western Ghats and the north east India regions (both just basically drown in water)
