Let the flamewar begin....

@freemo any good place to discuss APARAPI related questions or stuffs??

@marcuse1w @macleod
I also really liked Ada (actually better than Rust, I don't like the decisions they have made for the syntax of Rust) but it seems to be a dying language, mostly replaced by modern stuffs.

Due to main usecase of Ada, actually it is very common to come across Ada working along with C.

Lisp is just different, mostly that's why people like it. Also I think SICP has a big hand in making it popular with folks who did programming in 80s, 90s and well into 2000s

It is less on the looks side, but also it is more on the functional side.

for suggestions, you have mentioned USA Today, Fortune magazine and stuffs. This would be much much more eyecatching if you directly put images of those cover pages or news articles, etc also make it an auto-carousel, so it will swipe automatically. other many people would miss it.

the syncleus website seems to be down, it gives 404, also it's certificate is expired.

So I'd really love some input on my new personal page! I am kinda excited about it.

Here is the link, feedback welcome: jeffreyfreeman.me/

It mostly looks like the old version but the home page is revamped (I really like the real time git heatmap I created! ) and it is totally built from scratch. Some features I love:

It even supports the Fediverse as a full activity pub end point. It uses the following handle:

@freemo@jeffreyfreeman.me

Here are some of my favorite features:

* Fedipub / ActivityPub support, it rungs fedipage.com
* Clean and simple theme.
* Git heatmap (seen on the home page)
* Tags support
* Hugo static site based

@leahawasser
what is your goto example projects when it comes to showcasing the perfect way to do the code and the docs?

@freemo
normally people go from old school to modern, you seem to have gone the opposite way in your website :catjam:

But I think this website is better than the previous one, atleast more updated content.

I looked into the Aparapi code a little,
How much work do you think will it take to extend support to Python Bytecode?
(There also the way where we can do it through Jython but that one only support python 2.7 currently)

give me the MOST OBSCURE UNREADABLE CURSED but functional code snippet you have came across :ablobcatneon:

@leahawasser @pyOpenSci
Readable docs as well readable code both matters.
readable docs helps in understanding the project as overall while readable code makes it easy to understand individual flows and functionalities.

@aen_the_acolyte
I like History Hits, will have to try Civilis looks good from thumbnails.

I personally like Persian history, what about you?

@aen_the_acolyte
Have you watched some history channels on youtube like Oversimplified, Extra History, Technological Connections, etc?

A new #introduction for a new account!

Hi everyone, I'm Aen! 👋🏾

I'm a Cyber Security student, but you'll find me posting about lots of stuff! My interests include:
📚 Reading SFF and History (reading a great book about the Middle Ages right now!)
🎤 Eurovision (we're between seasons right now but trust me, my Eurovision posting will commence come December...)
🎧 Music (I'm currently into RnB and Neo-Soul, but my taste changes all the time. I might start posting some album reviews now and then, maybe crossposting on albumoftheyear)
⚔️ Dungeons and Dragons (big Dimension 20 fan and my friends just started the Curse of Strahd so I'll be playing my first session this week!)

Other than that, you'll probably see me complaining about all the work I have to do for university or trying to figure out if I have ADHD...

Anyway, if you've read this far, thanks! Reply with your favourite book/album, or an interesting one you've read or listened to recently (my To Be Read and To Be Listened lists might get a lot bigger 😅)

1) Egypt is fucked economically, aids do help a bit but at the end the brunt is on the host country. (just look at Bangladesh with all the Rohingya refugees)

2) Aids stop after some time, Egypt knows the refugees will be permenent.

3) Last war, Israel captured whole of Sinai province from Egypt including the Suez Canal. It certainly is afraid Israel can/will do that again.

4) International colloboration is complex and mostly fails cause all countries work their own benefit and not the greater good
