This is it. Last day of work before a long break. This is a much bigger deal than it sounds to those who don't know me so well: my employer took advantage of the coronavirus pandemic to try and make an example of me for resisting their ludicrous demands (50% pay cuts, unpaid overtime, etc.)

Had they succeeded, the timing would have been such that my wife's immigration to this country would have been affected, and due to some key licensing offices being closed for the pandemic, I wouldn't have been able to get another job for some months.

But I fought back, I survived, I'm here, and they look at me with fear in their eyes. It's weird, these people have financial and contractual coercive power over me (sorry kids, wages for survival is a coercive deal) yet apparently they're so scared of me that they'll only even CONTACT me through the one person there who I actually trust.

But after today, it will be over. A month of recuperation. And then I'll be there afterward with nothing to lose, every British License Permit™ I need to not get my wife taken away by government jackboot thugs, and a mountain of documentary evidence of their wrongdoings.

2020 has set a new record for the worst year of my life, and that takes some doing. But annoyingly for someone so reluctant to acknowledge the power of struggle, it has made me much, much stronger and more capable.

I'm going to enjoy my rest, and my turn. I earned this.

@mur2501 he definitely needs to because he carries the weight of what utter wankers humans are on his shoulders. He's beautiful! 💖🐶😘💞

The current active news in this would be the farmers protests across India against the liberalisation and privatisation of farming market. Farmers from northern Indian states marched to the National Capital Region where they were welcomed by the Delhi Police (which is under the control of the Central Government) with tear gas, water cannon and lathi charge (baton charge).
The responce of the central Government of very simple: "Farmers are anti-national seperatists"

What do you expect from a right wing Hindu nationalist party whose only political base and agenda have been the divide in religion, caste, languages,.amd cultures?

@calculsoberic@mstdn.social @anarchiv
Well to say, half of the India works under-the-table. We are one of the most corrupt nations.

Yeah they look like a chipmunk due to the stripes and colour though both are unrelated.
They are a bit larger then chipmunks.

Actually racism is most visible in the Arrange marriage culture of India. The ideal bride is considered to be white hence also the fairness cream market.

@calculsoberic@mstdn.social @anarchiv
To say racism here is much more softer then it's in America also it's so much attached to the culture that it becomes hard to detect when to say it's racism. The biggest thing is that we have much bigger inequality problems like Castes, religion, languages, etc racism is very tiny compared to all that.
