put to a point:
type 1: you alone control your destiny and are responsible for your successes and failures.
type 2: we are a victim of our circumstances, and can't be held accountable for systemic issues.
there are positions in between these. i think, as is usually the case, the boring truth *is* in between these positions. much like the boring truth is that it's 50% nature, 50% nurture, etc. nothing you can smack in the table to say "ha! told you i was right" but more like "well, so we were both kinda right and wrong. meh, this discussion is suddenly a lot less interesting."

Probably 5 but not really continuous on it. Self-learning is a slow and difficult task hard to be maintained on but also it has it's own enjoyment.
