The problem of any stream is that you don't get to know it's reality and problems until you are deep shit in it. Most 12 years have very basic dreams like doctor, astronaut and shit, but as you grow up you come to know about the difficulty in doing those stuffs and also the complexity in it, as well as there are many other factors.

actually for fields like science, engineering and other stuffs 12 years is not the best age as alot has to be understood.
Also the main difference between Schools and colleges is in the way they give attention to individual students. In colleges everything is upon the student to do or choose or anything, basically they have to find there own way to do something which is not the case in schools
