Unless you are dumb, you should already know.
Naturally cats have a fixed territory and they hardly stray outside of it. They want complete control and knowledge of the place they rule over. Even an addition of new object in the territory can surprise them, so changing the whole surrounding by taking them on to a walk is rather not any good idea. possibly it can cause unnecessary stress for cats.

Well unlike dogs, cats aren't lease animals.
They are free and they want to be free from bonds.
It's better to let them out without any lease in controlled places.
