i had some leftover cat furniture so i put it on the balcony so Blizzard could peer over the railing. he's doing exactly what i hoped.

okay, so it didn't go quite as planned. lots of things went wrong, but i managed to make it stable enough to be safe eventually. now Blizzard has the best view he's ever had in his life, and can bask in the sun too!

if i can find my drill bits, i'll start my little woodcraft project today. the idea is to take one of these and fix it to the foot end of my bed. mine originally came with a hollow cylindrical base but Blizzard never used it. since floor space comes at a premium in my new place, i thought, hey, why not attach it to the bed? also, it's next to a window, so he'll have a view. he liked using that cat furniture in the old apartment precisely because it was in front of the window.
