@FayHope9 @CEMedia@mastodonapp.uk um yes, that was obvious, unless they are now into selling drinks on the rocks 😉

Bird flu.

@Crazylikeaseaslug think favourite is meant to be the like

@Crazylikeaseaslug the qoto.org instance gives you 65536 characters per toot!

This was my IT #geek son's response to my going onto Mastodon. Clearly out-geeked by his IT #geek dad 😂

My technical explanation of federated instances didn't help my case 🤭🤓

@gary you don't know how lucky you are in Ireland. I am a Dub in living the UK loonybin.

@gary he appears to have the same magic touch for economics as the late unlamented #liztruss

@gary They are now mentioning the word #bankruptcy alongside #twitter in the same sentence. Will #birdsite outlast the Aldi lettuce test?

@Rel I did spin up an instance and even connected to the UK relay but then asked myself why? There are thousands of instances out there and it was going to be hard work to keep one properly administered. I ended up on qoto.org because it's STEM related (I'm an IT engineer) and they have added some useful things like the ability to pull any other server's public timeline into your feed so you can also see more local toots.

@MtnWaver on a Web browser, go to Following and Followers/Subscriptions and from the menu you see Domain Subscriptions. You can add the public feed from another server to a list or your home timeline.

@mai25 @RussInCheshire it appears to be £1 a second. There may be a deeper meaning of course.

@AlanGreene I loved that Father Ted episode!

@SimonPegg use an #introduction tag. Otherwise it's probably best to 'toot' while performing cartwheels 🤸‍♂️ 😉😁

Ah, that explains it

@annigl Hello 🙂

@EtheSherdnerd Get an Android phone 😁

@kefir PS you may need to do it on a Web browser
