@ottocrat Loving the Luxembourg one as well.
It remains absolutely wild to me that Jalopnik, of all things, has one of the most enlightened editorial views on car culture and windshield-perspective.
This is a blistering editorial that would get you fired from just about any mainstream newspaper for writing.

I'm not even going to ask what you think "moving the goalposts" means. I'd be curious what "moral debt" ash to do with teaching history in school and why that latter hurts you so very deeply, but it's not like I don't already know the answer.
@TootUncommon@mstdn.party @Lady_Star_Gem The country your family chose to immigrate to was largely built on slavery and still characterized by a universal, systemic racism. The country you presently enjoy still has disparities of wealth, power, security and justice based on that legacy.
I propose we leverage the Black Panther / Mulford Act phenomenon. Black people need to open carry in large numbers. Repubs will once again hop on gun control like Trump on Stormy.
If you're tired of the way #Chromecast TV promotes content, on services you don't even subscribe to, even in "Apps Only" mode, I recommend the Projectivy launcher. It's exactly functional enough: essentially what you wish the native launcher was.

Perhaps the AI is so smart it can mine cryptocurrency while it tweets.
Is it just me or does "The Gates of Minsk" sound like a euphemism?
@mtsw Hide the blue check and then post 2K character tweets anyway and hope no one notices.

The way it often works is you don't bother go until you have guests visiting, and the think "well I can't just take them around to my local haunts, I've got to show them the sights". And then you go and see some of these things with them for the first time yourself.

@JohnShirley2023 You're a generous soul.
@JohnShirley2023 I always believe "Amazon User" when he reviews books he hasn't bought, don't you?
Which is essentially why I haven't had cable since the 1990s.
Remember this picture every single time you hear someone in your city say "we're not Amsterdam."
This was #Amsterdam in the 1970s, via @fietsprofessor.
The cities we admire made better choices regarding cars, and are still making them today.
Better choices instead of excuses.
Get your money's worth from Netflix by only watching the most obscure movies from deep in the search results. They save on bandwidth charges by caching the popular stuff locally and then encouraging everyone to watch it, but if we each make them stream different weird content from some remote server just for us we'll bring them to their knees! Fight the power, man.
@JohnMashey @ct_bergstrom I bet they're using the streamer trick of caching them at the local head end and then "trending" them so that everybody clicks. That way in that moment nobody's clicking on a million different, more obscure things that actually have to be fetched over the internet on demand.
We really should make it easier on the ISPs and just replace ourselves with simple scripts that watch whatever we're told. Or would that be superfluous?
