@enobacon @SwiftOnSecurity Now do riding an e-bike with an 8lb gut you wouldn't have if it wasn't an e-bike

@LauraKT Damned liberal elites ruining everything for the Tory working stiff.

@mgeist Not mentioned there, but I wonder whether a Canadian government can reserve rights to a trademark from its citizens anyway. In the US I suspect that a government held trademark would be quite literally public property.

Seriously, how hard would it be to hack the remote guidance on those Iranian drones? I mean we're talking about Ukrainians here.

@elizatech If Unless we're talking about Skyfall in which case it's more like weakened, amirite

@elizatech

I also like the exhortation to surrender now that your loan has expired. Sounds like Vinnie the enforcer. Next it's going to threaten to break your thumbs.

@pvsundarb Well I mostly use twitter on a laptop in Chrome, so I'm using uBlock Origin. Adding this to the filters does it.

twitter.com# [data-testid="icon-verified"]>g>:matches-css(fill: rgb(29, 155, 240)):upward(article)

I don't know of anything that supports the equivalent on mobile devices.

I'm still reading tw!tt3r, but I have a filter that hides all tweets fro anyone with a blue check. So all I see is the people and institutions who won't pay, and the people with less than a million or so followers. It's kind of different.

@ct_bergstrom Well Musk's not going to give him $44bn for that one too until it's got a userbase.

Perhaps the most accurate prediction in "2001: A Space Odyssey" is when Bowman and Poole are watching the same streaming video on their respective tablets (in portrait orientation) while eating dinner.

@admitsWrongIfProven

PS I love that your profile image is a potato. I actually own a T-shirt with nothing but a picture of a potato on it.

@admitsWrongIfProven Clearly you drink less and/or use non-backlit keyboards in the dark less than I do.

@admitsWrongIfProven The use case is that you're touch-typing and you haven't noticed that your fingers aren't on the home keys of your keyboard. The result looks like nonsense.

But it would be simple to dynamically test that nonsense against obvious keyboard transpositions resulting from various possible mispositioning of your hands, and if one such transposition produces sensible results, just substitute that automatically.

@JamesGleick And once Q and MAGA types found out he has an arsenal, he retroactively could do no wrong after that. I regularly see defensive claims that he's, somehow, "a whistleblower".

In looking for a self-hosted online notebook I've just settled on . Fully self-contained*, remarkably feature rich, no database of any kind (!!!!) and it's been supported by its original author and a sizeable community since 2004.

But it's tough to get past the fact that the basic element is called a Tiddler. Not an Item, a Note, or an Article. A "Tiddler". God the British are silly sometimes.

* If you're hosting it on the web and you want changes to be saved to the server you do have a little bit of work to do, but it's pretty simple on most platforms.

@1CM69@mastodon.social @rpilocator Hey, they've got a lot of overhead having to maintain hundreds of separate accounts in order to buy them in quantities of 1 from legitimate sellers.

@mhmck Ruble just fell below one UK penny today. Still has yet to reach its Feb 2022 depths though.

At this rate I can't imagine what they'll use to pay for Iranian drones.

A person who uses "literally" to refer to something they're making up on the spot is certain to be confusing other fantasies with fact as well.

Fox has an oppo file on Tucker Carlson in case he decides to start dishing about the network. It contains dirt like

• Secretly sorts his recycling
• Has a signed photo of Greta Thunberg
• Once went to a Black Lives Matter rally
