WHO does not base its recommendations on scientific evidence.

The protests are supposed to annoy those in power, not other people who already have their own problems.

I started patching packages a lot, so I won't get blocked by upstream issues. pnpm's built-in patching system is awesome, but honestly, its UX is not perfect. So I created a simple wrapper to make it easier:

Glenn Greenwald? The one who authored the investigation into the judiciary against Bolsonaro and in favor of Lula? Am I missing something?

It is almost certainly staged with stuffed animals.

The state of maturin/pyo3 is absolutely brilliant. The fact that writing Rust bindings for Python is so easy now really makes me much more optimistic about the utility of Python going forward. The experimental MiniJinja Python bindings are tiny and use zero unsafe code. github.com/mitsuhiko/minijinja

This is not though, capitalism is economic power overriding political power... it's when market economy overflows from its function of allocating resources towards other aspects of life, commodifying them... stuff like this.

This is just a marketing trick.

In my opinion these "creative" uses of the word "capitalism" makes the critics of capitalism appear confused, like "what are you proposing here?", and it is therefore counterproductive.

The artificial-intelligence chatbot ChatGPT can write fake abstracts that scientists have trouble distinguishing from those written by humans. Increasing sophistication of chatbots could undermine research integrity and accuracy, researchers fear.

The concept of the "majority" is particularly troubling. By always accepting the will of the majority, democracy allows for majorities to have an absolute tyranny over everyone else.

In my experience it's better to review a journal page and use the Move Block plugin to move notes to the most relevant pages. It can be set to leave a block reference in the journal.

This should also make the Graph View more accurate.

I wouldn't say "Ukraine war ruined physics" but rather "racism is still a thing even among physicists".

At best the war is bringing out the fools who want to convict individuals without trial just for their nationality.

Not to mention that in UN Security Council only 5 nations have veto power.

Thanks but I can't imagine the same conversation online: one would just quit after a couple of boring questions or even ignore the first one.

I don't doubt it, but blocking entire other instances because they don't enforce the same rules as you is fragmenting the Fediverse and creating a lot of issues.

And notice that the admin of mastodon.art disagree even with the founder of Mastodon on which instances to block.

I believe teachers don't explore reflections in circles because they don't understand the geometry behind it, which is based upon an altitude to the hypotenuse in a right triangle, tangents to circles, geometric means OB*OC=Radius^2. Simple and beautiful
