and I found that the Chinese Government had made use of TikTok to distribute political messaging to US users in an effort to swing the midterm elections. TikTok still doesn’t label state media.
@emilygorcenski appreciate the insights. I definitely don’t feel bad for Jack, but he does sound sad.
Good grief it's really frustrating how difficult to use modern email is for folks experiencing homelessness.
Most email services verify by phone number and try to re-verify by that same number for "suspicious" logins, but many folks without consistent shelter can't keep the same number for very long.
You can kind of get past this with 2FA, but most 2FA methods require keeping physical items that can be hard to retain without housing.
It goes on and on...

Two years ago this week, some QAnon clowns started a rumor that Pres. Biden was about to nominate me for Secretary of Education. They did this to fearmonger over the prospect of a trans woman running American public schools.
This was especially funny at the time because I have zero qualifications to be on my local school board, let alone lead the Department of Education.
Death threats. Doxxing. An avalanche of nasty messages. Delightful.
Fox News rather bizarrely took it seriously.
SAN FRANCISCO — In a cab tonight a white female cabdriver who says she is 55, said racist things about Asians. (I won’t repeat them.) I tell her what she says is racist. “Stop the cab,” I say. Says she’s not racist “because I’m Swiss.” Then says, “pay before you get out”, confirming her racist mentality. “What makes you think I won’t pay?” She says, “I don’t know.” Then: “why are you getting out of the cab?” I got out. Reported her immediately to the relevant agency. #SanFrancisco #BlackMastodon

Are we really just going to move on to the next issue after the leading candidate for the presidency and former White House occupant urged the termination of the Constitution to reinstall him in power, as if this is just another off-kilter comment and not foreshadowing where this is heading? Six years on, have the media learned that little about the danger this man portends?
