Thanks, I actually would have stopped talking there if she did not say she wanted to have a discussion...
I imagined she was interested in that
I'll have to get better at understanding these cues, but it's particularly difficult on the internet, without knowing whom you're talking to
I was blocked after this conversation, could someone please help me understand why I was blocked and how I could have behaved differently to avoid this and have a better conversation?
@alda
I don't understand: you started explaining me about it, I thought you wished to do that.
I have no interest in conducting an in depth research about this topic, while instead it would be nice to have a bird's eye introduction.
You assume that I disagree with you, while I never said such thing.
I asked you questions regarding something I do not know.
I cannot disagree on something I know very little about.
I just find funny your example about Hawaiian pizza.
From the Wikipedia explanation I don't see how that fits the description.
Besides, why should Hawaiian pizza be frowned upon (except not liking it)
@trinsec
Good job!
Today I'm laying on the sofa... I barely prepared something for a very late lunch
@alda
Are you interested in discussing about it?
I feel it would be interesting to understand a bit about it.
I read the Wikipedia page of cultural appropriation:
- it is not coherent
- I don't see how that applies to your examples
If you wish to discuss about it, however, you will have to explain some things since, as I told you, I'm quite foreign to this concept.

@alda
Do you refer to this?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominant_culture
(An article about this with several citations from Gramsci is quite suspicious, but if that's what you mean I understood)
I just wanted a bit of clarity, since people mean different things by using the same words.
Cultural appropriation
@alda
Alright, it's unclear to me what you mean by dominating culture. Do you mean people in a country where one culture is majoritatian that adapt something from a minoritarian culture within that same country?
Moreover, as far as I see this is not approved by many people but I don't understand why.
I can understand something that might be insulting, let's say using a religious garment in an offensive way but other than that I don't see problems.
Why someone shouldn't wear a turban if he wishes to?
Why shouldn't someone have a spirit animal if he so wishes?
Please explain me the Hawaiian pizza example, I guess it's one example of Italian culture appropriation.
I am Italian and thus I should be offended by someone eating it or cooking it?
What's the problem with that?

Cheap phones do not exist.
Every smartphone is way too expensive.
A couple years ago I broke my last phone and had to quickly change it, I've got a Redmi for 160€
That was the cheapest phone available and it's way too much
Now, this is a good phone: great camera, nice processor, large screen and so on
I don't need all that stuff, I just need a phone to access the internet and receive emails.
If you were to downgrade the camera and processor this phone would be cheaper
I want cheaper, low end smartphones
