Insinua... d'accordo che non c'è alcuna pubblicazione che lo dimostri, ma non è molto inverosimile

I read a bunch of articles in chemistry with clearly fake data, some of those even had chemical formulas which clearly couldn't be correct.

Unfortunately peer reviewers most of the time have no interest in replicating experiments.
I believe the most falsified data is yeld, everyone reports some 80% efficiency and when you do it you get a 20%

@rastinza I've heard that in some cases hackspaces also have sewing machines, and people who can help you learn how to use them.

Over time I've realized academia is in some ways the most irrational industry of all
- focus on arbitrary metrics like journal IF, H-index (not even getting into frequentist problems)
- awards and self-promotion
- obsessed over author order
- zero-sum thinking leading to hyper-competitive exclusion of potential collaborators, weaponization of anonymous reviews
- false meritocracy consistently undervalues contributions of technical staff
- training so many grad students for so few academic jobs

I understand now, I'm not sure about the best way to go around that...
I guess a separate file with the dates works well, it's difficult to keep track of time through the filesystem

@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon
Bullshit, some of them are repaired and then crash again, thus the average could be much higher!

@thor
Chemists are magical beings, able to mix white powders inside a liquid and obtain a smaller amount of white powder in the end.

The reason of such endeavour is still unknown

@hulkavinci
There's no comparison between the ease of use of numpy and that of Matlab.

I heard of Julia, I remember someone told me it's a modern Fortran... I never actually tried it, but it appears interesting.
If that works, and if there are some useful libraries, it could be a good replacement of all that old stuff.

@fisunov
I don't understand the point you make about pirating.
Do you believe that posting on Twitter will become a full time job?

Moreover, I don't think that pirating is strictly related to wealth.

@torresjrjr
I don't know, I mean just a txt with date - album name would work.
It depends on what you need this information for...

I myself listen to albums, thus I have the artist/album structure, but I never needed to remember the year in which I got a particular one, why do you need to remember that.

@trinsec
I used to think in this same way, then I watched a couple YouTube tutorials and realized that doing basic stuff is extremely simple.
To start I got an old t-shirt and went to visit a friend which had a sewing machine; I tried on that one and then I bought a sewing machine.

It doesn't really take a lot of space, I keep it in my cabinet near my clothes.

I encourage you to try it out, specially if you can borrow a machine from your mother!
