For some branches of Christianity, God already chose winners and losers. Winners are born wealthy and the poor are miserable, because he wants them to be. Nothing you do matters, or could matter. If your life sucks, you are a bad person and God hates you.

I'm 59. When I was born, segregation existed, interracial marriage was illegal and women were not allowed to have credit cars in their own names until I was 11 years old. CIVIL RIGHTS ARE A NEW THING.

Pretty crazy that conservative freshmen go to university fully expecting to educate their professors not the other way around, and conservatives adults think it is the professors who are being elitist and arrogant in that scenario.

So here’s my new thing: I’ve been screenshotting great toots and posting them on every other platform: instagram, Twitter, Facebook, BlueSky, Imgur, Reddit, etc. I’ve been including enough in the screenshot to show that it’s from #Mastodon as well as the activity on the toot if there are loads of retoots and likes. My goal is to subliminally show the folks outside the #Fediverse that Mastodon is a vibrant community with great content and lots of engagement. #twittermigration #mastodonmigration
