In the men's restroom, someone punched a hole in the wall. The staff decided not to repair the hole, but to frame it... #art
@lolgop what?? no, that’d be if she were forcing schools to teach *politics*. It’s *religion*, so the curriculum will include how to prevent the release of photos documenting how you paid your poolboy to maintain an ongoing affair with your wife.
“What does it mean to be ‘pro-life’ now?”
“Well, it’s pretty clear where we go from here,” said activist Sheila Atkinson. “Now we need to provide rights for all the people who are incontrovertibly alive, like young children whose parents can’t afford quality childcare and nutrition. We need to fight for those rights, plus common-sense gun regulation that will free them from the fear of being massacred in school.”
HAHAHA jokes, nobody said that. “Pro-life” means now what it meant then: nothing.
My #book @themitpress has a cover! "Insolvent: How to Reorient Computing for #JustSustainability" brings computing in dialogue with its 'critical friends' to show how we can enact meaningful change in #computing to meet the urgent need for #sustainability and #justice. It will be part of #Direct2Open, i.e. #OpenAccess from the start.

@carnage4life I’m writing a paper right now that tries to get to the heart of what personas can be, both for product development and for research. After using them for years in industry, I can say they need a few things going for them if they’re going to work — the one that I think teams miss most often is they need to be *iterative*, just like your software. Every user test, every A/B test, every analytics report: see what new stuff it tells you about your persona and update that puppy!

New West Virginia bill, SB 252 would define "obscene matter" as exposure to transgender people. It would make it a felony to share any content regarding transgender people with a minor. This is blatantly unconstitutional.

So, the Heritage Foundation somehow got their hands on personal data of 30,000 of the most marginalized people staying at 'geofenced' migrant aid shelters and CBP facilities, and tracked their phone location across the US for some sh*tty propaganda? #wtf

“In exchange for not crashing the United States economy, you get nothing,” Sen. Brian Schatz said in an interview with The Daily Beast. “You don’t get a cookie. ... You’re just a person doing the bare minimum of not intentionally screwing over your constituents for insane reasons.”
Need a bit of GOOD news? #UCLA researchers developed a small implantable device that drove cancerous tumors into remission, eliminated metastasis, prevented the growth of new tumors, and resulted in longer survival in laboratory mice. Next up: clinical trials in humans. Very exciting and hopeful stuff!

@JuliusGoat Prior to the 2020 election results I was in (actual) dialogue with multiple MAGA supporters. When their side lost I invited them to regain their authority by repenting and doing the work of reconciliation. Brother, you have never seen people as offended as they were. Repentance is perceived as an existential threat to the ego — which of course it’s *supposed* to be, but some cannot imagine that could be healthy.

I'm sharing this as an actual solution to empower civilians.
Please check out TurnSignl, an app founded by Black civil rights lawyers. It lets you video call a lawyer asap through voice activation or single touch when police pull you over. The lawyer manages & records the entire convo w/police & works to get you home safe.
It's like $7/mo and free for low income people. It's in a few dozen states & will be nationwide shortly. I have it myself.
