How long will the Voyager spacecraft be operational?
Voyager will be unable to keep instruments powered on much beyond the early 2030s, although NASA engineers may find clever ways to keep comms. up for longer.
The spacecraft will keep traveling towards the stars long after they stop communicating.
In ~40K years, Voyager 1 will pass within 1.6 light-years of star Gliese 445; Voyager 2 will pass 1.7 lys from star Ross 248.

The secret to a lasting relationship is leaving notes for your significant other to show how much you care.
I guess my wife does care!

Re: opt-in
How freaked out/annoyed would you be if a bot would send you a DM asking you if you want to opt-in?

Lightning from last night's severe storms in Central Texas. This was taken from Liberty Hill. Single, 20-second exposure. The resulting thundercrack was as loud as you imagine.

Saying we need to get rid of encryption so that government agencies can catch criminals is the same as saying we need to remove the locks in our houses to do the same.
And if that sounds wrong, it's probably because you don't know how much of your life is digitised these days.
