I've been in touch with the author, Drew DeVault, and I told him he should get translations. The site is currently only in English.

It's a new site that teaches Free Software ideology and gives practical advice for getting into the movement. Without the rigamarole. It has a lot of potential.

So #Reddit has sent us this nice "either you open up your subreddit or else" letter too. We will keep the subreddit private, let's see what their "next steps" look like.

Wir brauchen funktionierende Öffis, soweit klar? Dabei ist der Gradmesser ganz sicher nicht, dass es für erwachsene fitte (sic) Leute wie mich, die bei Problemen jederzeit ein Taxi nehmen können, die per Smartphone mal eben die Lage checken und die allgemein Frau/Herr der Lage sind, klappt.

Der Gradmesser sind Kinder, Alte, Leute mit Beeinträchtigungen, Nicht-Ortskundige - you name it.

I'm laughing at memes about billionaires who can't pull themselves up to the surface by their own bootstraps, but in reality I'm furious.

I'm furious I was accused of human smuggling by FRONTEX (European border agency) for being part of a sea rescue operation that saved 1000+ lives of refugees fleeing war & terrorism.

I'm furious at the money and international effort being spent to rescue these billionaires when operations like ours cost so little and save so many lives, but are punished.

Wherever I look I can see news about a few very rich individuals being stranded on a submarine that was supposed to take them on a tour of the Titanic. The effort put in place to rescue them appears huge in scope.

Last week over six hundred people died in a #shripweck off the coasts of #Greece and nobody cared. Nobody even bothered to start a rescue operation until it was too late.

Stop pretending people are equal, I hate this hypocrisy.

because of all our hardware projects i'm already spread too thin to contribute in a bigger way to sw projects that i think matter a lot, like linux arm kernel and drivers, mesa, wlroots, wayfire, sway, gnome, pipewire, creative apps like gimp, inkscape, audio and video editors... but i would love to see the relevant people getting this cash and pushing FOSS desktops forward
