@adam

Why would CNN and MSNBC tell people this drug (Ivermectin) is not approved for safe use in humans?

(NA producers know why.) #TYFYC

"In the first essays of his youth he was not regular nor happily balanced; he allowed himself to follow mere natural character, which, without the control of reason and instruction, is apt to hurry, upon either side, into sudden and violent courses, and very often to break away and determine upon the worst; as he afterwards owned himself, saying, that the wildest colts make the best horses, if they only get properly trained and broken in."

the price of a strong character is you have to get the shit kicked out of you to learn anything

My parents sent me these photos from Amsterdam today.

Cities would be happier places if we valued urban beauty as much as the Dutch.

When people say the word “urbanization”, they are actually saying “suburbanization”. Since 1939 we have had negative, real, “urban growth”, but massive “suburban growth” and the corresponding urban sprawl. We aren't building any real cities like #Koblenz or #Riga.

"The millionaire Benjamin Guggenheim after having helped the rescue of women and children, got dressed and put a rose at his buttonhole, to die."[12][13][14] He was heard to remark, "We've dressed up in our best and are prepared to go down like gentlemen."[1] Etches, who survived the sinking, recorded Guggenheim's message: "If anything should happen to me, tell my wife in New York that I've done my best in doing my duty."

When men were men.

@Prodigal soooo this is awkward, aaaaaaaages ago i asked about conspiracy docs and you linked me some stuff about some several hundred year old duke

i've been through my notifications for yonks and can't find it, can i get a repeat for my dumb arse?

@mk @freemo @funny from a 1997 paper, let me know if you want the source:

"Our experience, unlike that of Barkwell and Shields, shows that administration of ivermectin to geriatric patients does not
produce an excess of deaths. This finding accords with several other reports in the published research noting a high degree of safety for this drug in both animals and
human beings."

The main cause of death from ivermectin seems to be due to complications from the parasites that it kills. I.e. the dead parasites it kills then go on to cause infections and death. If you don't have a large amount of some exotic parasite such as Loa Loa in your bloodstream then you're probably ok and I suspect a doctor would give you ivermecting and treat possible infections with antibiotics.

Obviously I'm a simple master thief, not a doctor.
