@AmpBenzScientist I found the option in camera settings. Samsung called it "high efficient format" and hid it in a sub page.

I did a quick sanity check on Threema, and it seems like it will decompress.convert HEIC file into regular jpg/png file before sending to other clients.

The original file is 4.5MB in HEIC, but the client got 18MB of file. Clearly it's got decompressed. Also tried the normal JPG format. It takes 4.6MB instead of 4.5MB. I don't think I really care that 0.1MB per photo.

Tested on a misskey instance.

I got the 422 error on Qoto when uploading the file, while I can update HEIC files to misskey.

However, my browser (both my phone and my laptop) doesn't support this format. And cannot display it properly.

And to make things worse, I don't know how to disable this HEIC thing in Samsung's confusing OneUI.

@trinsec Well, I tried the web interface on my phone. I think I dont need any apps from now on. 😂

Also, I'm wondering if I should switch to Tusky.

I purchased the fedilab and used it for a while, but as you see, there are always some bugs and not that happy to use.

I'm ok with png, and I thought the webp was already super advanced (in the meaning of I never used it), but HEIC?

Just noticed this HEIC problem.

I used to use png with my old phone, but Samsung uses this new format that I had never heard of.

It seems like qoto or mastodon server generally doesn't accept this format when uploading.

It's time to create an alt on other servers to domoretesting, I guess.

Today, I disassembled my razer laptop, and I was expecting a swelling battery. To my surprise, the battery is ok, yet. The dust is very bad, thanks to Beijing's air quality.

虽然电池现在还好，我感觉到了6月份左右肯定会鼓包。

According to my experience, the battery has a great chance to swell in June.

原来白上直播的实时转录是GCP的

但是中国好像没办法直接注册GCP，得想个办法（
