Talking about cryptocurrencies, I noticed with the help from CEXs (despit most CEXs are reject Chinese clients for regulation resons), the chains other than BTC and ETH are very usable.

I invested some free money on NEO chain, and exchanged them to BCH (the hard branch from BTC) and ETH alternatives like Polygon, the gas fee is super cheap compared to BTC and ETH. And they are fast.

**Disclaimer: I'm not encourage anyone to invest money on bitcoin or something else.** I win my free money from a hackathon project (which I eventually gived up in a very upset way due to Chinese unclear regulations on this field), and I don't want to get involved with money laundry groups when selling crypto for real world menoy, so I decided to invest into where it is, aka the DEXs, the liquidity pool (I still don't know what it is, why named a pool).

It yields me about 20 USD per month, and with some help from a small and suspicious company that issue visa cards that spent USDT, now I can enjoy this free money and buy some small stuff.

(If this sounds suspicious to you, then I promise, it's very suspicious. I can only recommend it if you can't find a legal way to do it)

I assume the law in England is very interesting.

OCBC approved my account, I need to wire transfer 1000 SGD to verify the account.

During waiting, I start reading the terms and conditions. I then found out what it said is basically "take care of your own sh*t and we will do nothing if you f*ck up yourself".

But considering I need a offshore diposit for my future, and I don't have to physically travel to a country (not mention the bank have to accept travel vist for opening an account), currently OCBC is the only option.

@freemo I switched from fedilab to the web browser before I encountered the problem, it shouldn't be fedilab.

My educated guess is somehow the JS script for fetching updates get stucked or misdispatched by the browse/app (when I switch to other app). and suddently send out a lot of request at once (when I switch back to the browser), considering I only encountered this issue on Android, not on PC.

But considering what @ClaraListensprechen4 got, I'm not sure what cause the problem. Maybe related to swap?

Messed around with Telegram for a while. The official C library (tdlib) is great: no pain to compile on both openSUSE and Windows, and easy to use in Java (using JNI).

Normally I use the official desktop and Android client, which gives me an illusion of safe and secure. You have secret chat for e2e chats, you have normal chats where you can delete messages for both you and the other person, and the channel and group features are super rich in terms of access control, where you can decide if clients are allowed to share/forward your media, etc.

However, I do mention that this is an "illusion". Only the secret chat is safe and secure, assuming your device is secure. The rest of the features are only for clients who follow the rules.

For example, the download and forward control, where you can disable member from downloading and forwarding your message in the group chat. This is a false claim if you directly access the API. The api will give you the data, it just tells the caller that this data should not be saved locally on the device. But there is nothing stopping me from saving the file.

Well, technically, there is no way to prevent such access violation. Even the DRM content can be recorded from the screen. But knowing the fact and knowing the illusion is totally different.

Knowing the fact means I acknowledge the limitation of the technology, and I know there will be a breach/leak after I publish something even in a secret way. But trusting the illusion means I'm expecting everyone to follow the rules and I expect no breach/leak, which can lead to a very bad/wrong decision making. For example, sending some secret information to such a group, expecting no one can download it but see it (maybe to prove you can get such confidential information), and then you saw what you send on a random website and causing serious problems.

Safety 101: Do not publish anything if you cannot afford the consequse of leaking.

I have encountered this a few times before (maybe one or two times?). It's rare, and I don't know how I triggered that.

The last time I had this issue was on my Android tablet, I switched from the browser to another app and then quickly switched back, then I got a lot of rate limit warning, and I do have to wait until I can fetch updates and post toot.

Me: Fire up a vm to compile tdlib.
