“Subscription” doesn’t feel like an accurate word for all the stuff we subscribe to.
When you cancel a magazine subscription, Time doesn’t come and take all the issues back.
When you cancel a Hulu subscription, you can’t watch the show for which you’ve been paying for months or years.
Do you like your Spotify library? Hope you’re ok with paying for it for the rest of your life.
What do we call these? “Service plans”? “Rentscriptions”?
Spring Festival, feels like I'm drained. Dealing with people face to face is kinda expensive to me. And dealing with such huge numbers of relatives in just 4 days is a bit much.
Hope the trip (not planned by me) can recharge me.
Also, got about 1.5K USD of red envelope money. Less than last year, but I'm already 24, what can I ask for?
(Money is the ultimate driving force. With a good amount of money, you can ask me to do anything.😋 )

Also, I'm thinking what to invest. Definitely not the Chinese stock market. Last year my cryptocurrency investment out performed my normal investment. I'm thinking if I should spent 20% on that. I'm still not fully trust the cryptocurrency yet.
While my friends are favored in All-In-Boom, ehh, I mean All-In-One set up, I think this Arm NAS is the ideal solution for me.
I'd like to set up one machine for one thing. The NAS machine is solely for storage, and provides NFS to other machines, like computing (like containers, hosting services), seeding (I love pirates), desktop (nVidia, F*ck you) and other things (OpenWrt or OPNsense for my Chinese friends to get censorship-free internet).

Sounds like me: It's working! Wait, no. Ok, now it should be working. Yeah, it works. No, not yet…

It's as if he wakes up in the morning seeking attention like a teenager, but with AI hype. At first, he claimed that AI frightened him, but later he called for governments to grant OpenAI exclusive rights. Then he caused a stir by getting fired from OpenAI & announced joining Microsoft. And now, he's asking for a whopping $7 trillion. It's quite amusing, to be honest! Netflix/HBO, are you watching this drama?
Good God. He wants $7 trillion to build an AI-driven biz. That is more than Microsoft & Google (throw in their Apple, too) market cap. What does this tell us? It is just not sustainable. It has a high cost. The craziness of replacing human labor with machines is priceless, tho. I now ask if this AI buzz can cure cancer and other critical illnesses. Can this free everyone to do art or travel and provide free housing and healthcare via UBI? This is pure madness.
Also, I wonder if I will have enough time to use the binoculars during the trip. The one who planned the trip said the schedule is pretty tight.
Samsung buds 2 will definitely improve the flight experience, since currently all I got is a bone conduction headphone.

Now I'm going to shift back for the spring festival, where my relatives come here and spend all day to ruin my day. Typical Asia style. Instead of enjoying the festival, the union of the families becomes a chance to keep up with the Joneses. Sigh.
Thankfully, I still have a trip to enjoy with my family. Hopefully, this time, there are no unexpected bicycle crashes.
Figured out a decent way to prepare for a late or early schedule. Just gradually shift your sleeping schedule and give your body time to adopt.
I found it to be pretty reliable when I needed to wake up early in 6am for my last job, and for a pretty important meeting at midnight. I shifted my bedtime from 11pm to 2am in two weeks, and it's pretty well. Keep the total sleep hours unchanged and sleep later and later.
Just one last thing: don't hammer your body with extra caffeine. I'm successfully being not sleepy at midnight, but now I'm struggling to sleep ![]()

I'm a Chinese shitizen, but I generally don't post in Chinese to avoid being suffering from other Chinese.
I'm physically a male, but I don't care how people think about my gender. I can be male, or female, or cat. But if you ask, I'd prefer to be referred to as male. Also, I support LGBT+ people, and I'm a copyleft. I don't think I'm too aggressive in arguing things, but sometimes I do. You should handle it with care.
I post about programming (most time is Java and Kotlin, unless I have a new love), and some random things I find interesting. I also post about my mental health, which is in a stable state of instability, thanks to my parents and Chinese society.
Anyway, if you want to follow me, I'm glad to see you. And, have a nice day.
