@mcc javascript promises are completion based and not readiness based. when you call .then() it will either call your function right away, or add it to the callback list that's executed when the thing that's blocking the rest completes
you don't need to poll/wait/whatever on a promise for it to have forward progress, unlike in rust or python

@marick thanks for the review! My pet peeve re: heroes: the world would be better with broadly available PHEVs than what we currently have. Bonus: also better if most smartphones still looked like classic blackberries.

@qcoding coordination will be required in any case, I guess you could do something like a code with me session (intellij) or live share (vs code) with the people working in the same area of the code. The number of participants is limited though I believe.
There's probably some tooling /process innovation around this kind of thing, maybe an ide plug-in that lets you see any file that has pending changes (and from whom)?
@b0rk if I can't use a GUI editor I'm probably also in an env where I can't install anything, so I use vi (and suffer)
