Is it me or does Mastodon seem to skew older? How old are you?

I am really loving that we are having a decent debate on #coding on here (#fediverse).

I know on twitter this would have gone mental with people saying I am using the wrong language (especially as it is C), or doing something stupid.

So much so, I nearly did not post my comment here.

Here, even though we are not all agreeing, we are being civilised in discussion of why we don't agree in all cases, and understanding points of view, and debating, and learning new things.

It is just so nice.

we need more people making smaller things, and to learn to value diversity over size. people keep asking “how can this scale?” and never “why should it?”

I can't stop giggling about Jordan Peterson trying to mansplain Christianity to the actual, literal Pope.

Normally I don't have much time for Peterson, but between that and the tyranny of being asked not to use too many paper towels, he is truly on a roll lately.

I checked, and I swear these are real tweets from his official, verified account.

On a client request, I'm digging through the various "state of security in $industry" reports, and came across this gem:

Until today I've been snowed in. Now I'm treed in, at least until Monday, when a friend with a bigger saw than mine can help me. I have supplies, but cat food was running low. My neighbors managed to make it to town and brought me some.

She arrived at Auschwitz on 28 September 1942 in a transport of 1,742 Jews deported from Malines / Mechelen. She was among the 1398 people murdered in gas chambers.
