#JP2GMD

Our girls having fun this morning, as the predicted dump of snow arrived overnight.

We were out early, breaking snow on the carpet smooth tracks, and able to track the wildlife, but sadly for the girls, never had a close encounter 🙂.

Yes, Mayor Adams in NYC has abandoned an effort to create real Internet access choices in favor of throwing money at the existing cable monopolies to provide an inferior service that people could have already got for free via the Affordable Connectivity Program.

The decision leaves local ISPs in the lurch and reminds us why many ISPs are nervous about partnering with local governments.

If you're a man and wonder how you can help women gain visibility: consider writing a Wikipedia article about a woman. Only 17% of biographies on the English Wikipedia are on women; article on women are more often rejected/deleted than those about men.

Wikipedia articles just need to meet a certain threshold of relevance, which most women in science, sports, or politics should easily meet. #Wikipedia #IWD2023

Sometimes the people who schedule mentor time with me ask these really profound questions I really have to share (anonymized) in case somebody else runs into the problem. Here is one such piece of advice that came up recently:

Much like trying to change somebody you are in a romantic relationship with who is being toxic and abusive, you will never be able to change a toxic or abusive work culture at your employer. Becoming a manager will not enable you to do it, unless you are the child of the CEO and inheriting the entire company. Being promoted will not change it. You working harder will not change it. A toxic culture is a toxic culture. Stop trying to be a hero.

'Why ChatGPT should be be destroyed' - now you're talking! 💥 https://www.theregister.com/2023/03/02/chatgpt_considered_harmful/?td=rt-3a
- seriously, this describes a kind of chatgpt harm which imo is difficult/impossible to guard against however much 'reinforcement learning with human feedback' you pile on

🐱🐈 #Rudowoj i #Szaromysł go obserwują i nieśmiało chodzą w bezpiecznej odległości.

If Twitter is sinking like the Titanic, then Mastodon community servers are the lifeboats. And there are not enough lifeboats. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Don't just call people still on the Titanic foolish as you row away. Make more lifeboats, and make them easier to climb into! 👍🏿

To make up for missing yesterday's #MarshMadness, I've decided to post one of the raunchiest pictures in my collection, showing three hot couples having a no-holds-barred orgy on a sandy beach.

No apology, no C/W. Sex is a beautiful and natural thing. Deal with it.
