@augieray Someone at work asked me why I was still wearing a mask and I said it was because I loved my wife and sons. And while I know the odds are probably against us in the long run, I would feel horrible if they had a life altering illness because I was being lazy. Perhaps that laziness could be considered a form of spousal abuse, I added. THAT ended the conversation. #CovidIsNotOver

A little-known fact about Mastodon is that when you move your account, it gets put on a truck and then shipped to the new server. Here, for instance, are users employing I-195 to move between servers.

I wonder if today is technically a zombie day because of all those resurrections?

Happy Zombie Jesus Day!

Happy easter everyone... as you know zombie jesus is the final evolution of the jesus pokemon, and the most sacred of pokemon among christians... So have a wonderful easter everyone!

On a walk in Polesie National Park today. Luckily, despite great weather, there were no tourists.

Speaking of telephony experience, I just used a kick meter to estimate the amount of cat 6 cable left in a box.

TDRs are for the weak.

The Texas MAGA federal judge banned Mifepristone because “FDA didn’t properly review its health risks” which is reportedly ~14 annual deaths.

Well, guess what, Viagra has ~200 annual reported deaths.

So…when do MAGAs ban Viagra??🤔

Oh right, never, because MAGA only cares about controlling women. They don't care that Mifepristone is incredibly safe for women, and even safer than childbirth. They only care about advancing their agenda to control women. Vote these MAGA Extremists out permanently

This month is the 30th anniversary of the announcement of the Clipper Chip, the first of many bad ideas for weakening cryptography with "key escrow" backdoors. Clipper is long dead, but its ghost continues to haunt us from time to time.

Animal cruelty, gardening, sarcasm

How to make a perfect lawn if you have dogs:

– kill the dogs
– bury them under the lawn
– wait a while and watch grass booming as all those additional nutrients from decomposing bodies work their magic.

Or do the human thing: fuck perfect lawns.

Three weeks ago, on a very rainy day, I came by a little pond in a small wood, and it was frog mating time.

Hundreds of years ago this small river, Mietiułka, formed the border between Lithuania and Poland.

Good people, what photo organization software do you use for your mac? Picasa-like preferred…particularly for many year’s worth of photos, facial recognition, folder hierarchy management, simple and cost effective. Does something exist? Holla

Apparently some snappers didn't get the memo ( dresden.network/@dandelion/110 ) and emerged only today. Surprisingly, they seem to bury themselves only a few inches into the creek bed, relying on the running water to prevent freezing (dry ground remains usually frozen solid around here for several months).

Happy #InternationalBeaverDay! 🦫🐟

#DidYouKnow beavers are responsible for creating 10% of all wetlands in North America?

#Wetlands are vital for our river––providing clean water, flood protection, wildlife habitat, natural beauty, resilience to climate change, and more.

A Tale of Two Night Herons?

I had a wonderful encounter on the marsh yesterday with these trees holding more than 40-odd black-crowned night herons (I don't usually see them in an area close enough for my camera to reach). It was so fun to watch them hop and preen and make nuisances of themselves to each other.

The Turkey Vulture crew are good citizens and adopted our highway upon return from the South, cleaning up whatever reappears now in the melting snowbanks.
