Mount Everest from Space

This week, NASA released a new image of Nepal's Himalayan mountain range captured from the International Space Station. Mount Everest, the tallest mountain on Earth, is at the center of the image. Clouds build up on the sub-tropical side of the mountain range, with clear skies on the desert side. The picture was taken using an external high-definition camera on the International Space Station.

Wikipedia is now on Mastodon, at @wikipedia!

They've taken an interesting approach here, as it is an account run by the community, where everyone can contribute (explanation here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/@Wikipedia). At the same time, it is verified on the official homepage of wikipedia.org, as you can see in the screenshot.

Personally, I think this suits the spirit of the fediverse that the Wikipedia account is not a PR department, but community members building something together!

Chyba pora mi zakończyć te męczarnie na największej instancji #Mastodon na świecie (i wieczne lagi oraz 500-tki).

Przeważyły 2 sprawy:
1. Blokada bramek z TT
2. Obietnica Piotra @piotrsikora że zwiększy limit znaków do okrągłego 2048 na pol.social ;)

Nie będę musiał pisać nieco dłuższych tootków na innej instancji :)

Przy okazji opisze wrażenia z migracji przeprowadzonej tak, jak to sobie #mastodon wyobraża 😉
