A cryptobro DMed me to ask if I wanted to join his mailing list.

I spent slightly too long making this to send in reply.

Po nocnych opadach i burzy 🌩️ 🌧️ bez strat. No może niedoschnięte buty ;)

Poprzednia bardzo silna burza, ta łamiąca gałęzie nauczyła mnie sporo, wyciągnąłem wnioski, przygotowałem się. Kontrolowałem jedynie czy wszystko ok.

Słońca mało, wieje, jakieś przelotne opady. Pokrowiec na rower robi za żagiel ⛵

Działam :)

Pozdrowienia z łąki pod lasem nad jeziorkiem 🌦️ Smacznej kawusi ☕

It's so absurd that in post-apocalyptic movies and TV we almost never see people riding bicycles. Like, the ONE transportation technology that requires no gas, no electricity, no computers, is based on parts that can be locally fabricated, scrounged, or recycled. I demand representation of critical mass after the anthropocene.

Zapraszam do obserwacji mojego nowego magazynu / bloga „Ze Śląska na Polesie” @FromSilesiaToPolesia gdzie zacząłem opisywać pierwszą podróż w ramach #Wyprawa2023.

To będzie ponad 400 km trasy, bez limitu czasu, bez planu, z uważnością i zwiedzaniem ciekawych miejsc.

#Rower z przyczepką, panel, namiot, tarp i szpargały. I ja i droga :)

Please, I'm begging you, if you're a researcher, archive your data, back up your files, have a data succession plan.

Chat to your library, chat to your colleagues. The best time is as you collect the data, the second best time is now.

I'm dealing with multiple different data nightmares now. People leave academia, people retire, people pass away with a plan to make a plan.

No judgement here, just sadness for all that hard work thrown into uncertainty.

@jennzycos You probably know this. In case you don't, adding #alt4me hashtag will bring your post to someone's attention and they'll add the alt text for you.

@jennzycos Good one. I see people responding to toots with alt text as a community service. That is being the better person.

"Neanderthal tools might look relatively simple, but new research shows that Homo neanderthalensis devised a method of generating a glue derived from birch tar to hold them together about  200,000 years ago—and it was tough. This ancient superglue made bone and stone adhere to wood, was waterproof, and didn’t decompose. The tar was also used a hundred thousand years before modern humans came up with anything synthetic."

Food

Another "it's too hot to live nevermind cook" recommendation is a puff pastry faux-pizza. Get ready rolled puff in a box, divide into 4 or 6, pile up high with favourite toppings and tasty cheese, delicious food 20mins later with minimal effort.

#nomad #offgrid #bike #camping #homeoffice #FromSilesiaToPolesia bin.pol.social/m/FromSilesiaTo

Apparently not a single news outlet aired President Biden's event at the White House this morning where he announced over $40 BILLION in investments to expand broadband across America? #media

I only bank and buy tires from places that have popcorn machines in the lobby.

Why you’re hardwired to trust confident voices. Even when they’re wrong

sciencefocus.com/news/hardwire

Me, for @sciencefocus

Our reflexive tendency to trust confidence helps explain Johnson, Trump, Putin, Musk, and so much more that is otherwise baffling about the modern world

A video that straddles the line of fascination/horror for me. This person mastered The Science of Graphics, and should be put in computer jail for the crimes committed here:

There are some things that just have to be photographed. This kind of chalk-based street art definitely qualifies. It’s beautiful, whimsical, and sadly, ephemeral.

"Superman", vol. 1, nr 130, 1959, DC Comics.

"The Town That Hated Superman!", scen. ?, rys. Curt Swan.

P.S. Branża komiksowa nieco wcześniej mogła oglądać w USA ogniska, na których palono komiksy.
