Fascynujący artykuł na Polityce: Kraków i Zakopane stają się szalenie popularne wśród Arabów z Zatoki Perskiej. Popularność zaczęła wzrastać wraz z otwarciem bespośredniego połączenia lotniczego między Dubajem i Krakowiem w 2018 roku.

Tragikomiczny wydaje mi się szczególnie jeden fragment:

No więc ten Belg, co chce jechać z Warszawy do Berlina 15 października i mnie zapytał, o co chodzi ze stroną intercity, że wszystkie połączenia na szaro i nieklikalne, napisał w końcu do intercity mejla. Na adres dla international passengers i w ogóle, bardzo szczegółowo opisał, o co mu chodzi (wiem, bo mi przysłał tego mejla później). Dostał odpowiedź, że pani Amelia nie rozumie i czy mógłby jakoś bardziej dokładnie wyjaśnić, jaki ma konkretnie problem. Mejla pani Amelia oczywiście napisała po polsku, Szanowny Panie, i w ogóle, because fuck you, that's why.

Ja nie wiem, polska kolej to jest naprawdę jakiś wyjątkowy fenomen i na zawsze już będzie miała w moim serduszku specjalne miejsce...

Zaraz do nich zadzwonię, może jak będę mówiła wolno i po polsku, to do nich dotrze. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I am still a new (culturally and politically) guest in the #Netherlands and getting to know the local media. This piece gave me a somewhat unexpected opportunity to talk with a journalist from the newspaper Trouw, which I learned to have been "founded in 1943 as an orthodox Protestant underground newspaper during World War II" (Wikipedia) who "remain a newspaper rooted in a Christian tradition and to be a source of contemplation and inspiration for everyone, churchgoer or not, who feels a need for moral and spiritual orientation."
In the spirit of not engaging with trolls, I checked the profile of the newspaper before agreeing to a conversation. But I did not see this coming! Who said leaving Twitter would narrow down my bubble?
