The real problem with the Meta/Google vs Canadian Government is not that Meta/Google are not linking important forest fire information, but that we relied on them to begin with.

We should have a system independent of their nonsense that does not rely on giant, evil corporations. Even Canadian ones.

If only the GOVERNMENT could figure out a way to GOVERN. It's a miracle that they are without agency, what being the government.

I still cannot get over the wonder and mystery of what gall wasps can do to plants. This is bio-engineering! The wasp lays her egg and somehow the plant makes a structure that is not a fruit, it is not a seed, it not a leaf or stem. It's a wholly recombinant architecture customized to the needs of the growing young larva. The plant provides food and shelter-- It's like a cancer, but with a purpose.

How did it evolve? How is it done!?

Jadę sobie "bonanzą" (stary wagon), opieram się o otwarte okno, podziwiam krajobraz i czuję zapach deszczu.

W dzisiejszej (28.08.2023) "Gazecie Prawnej" ukazał się artykuł, poświęcony planowanym od 6 września 2023 r. zmianom w przepisach, dotyczących monitoringu wizyjnego w placówkach medycznych. Udzieliłem na jego potrzeby komentarza.

Pomysł, w największym skrócie, polega na tym, by pewne rodzaje podmiotów wykonujących działalność leczniczą (przede wszystkim szpitale) mogły używać kamer w miejscach udzielania świadczeń zdrowotnych (np. na salach operacyjnych w lub w gabinetach lekarskich).

Brzmi kontrowersyjnie. Mimo to uważam, że to krok w dobrą stronę. Wiele podmiotów już taki monitoring stosuje, więc będzie to dobra okazja do ucywilizowania tej praktyki, zapewnienia jej zgodności z RODO i nietracenia z oczu potrzeb pacjentów.

Brakuje mi natomiast stanowisk Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych lub Rzecznika Praw Pacjenta w tej sprawie (chyba że takie się pojawiły; będę w takim razie wdzięczny za ich podesłanie).
