Please do vote if you're in the US. Literally every school board/director up for us had a book burning type running, some more subtle than others.

Mastodon penetration in Africa remains poor, and I'm not aware if that will ever change. There are numerous factors including language, culture, poor internet quality in certain countries and the general difficulty everyone has when adapting to Mastodon. The need for safe, clean platforms not at the mercy of legal requests from authoritarian regimes or data parsing by Saudi Royal shareholders...is a pressing one and will continue to be a pressing one. I'd like to see an African uptick here.

Taylor should offer a set of her albums together called The Taylor Series. Then we (you know the Swifty-Nerd intersection) could start a cover band called Taylor Series Approximation. Just sayin'.

#Starbucks announced it is increasing pay and benefits for most of its U.S. hourly workers after ending its fiscal year with record sales...BUT, the company said Monday that #unionized workers won't be eligible.

Withholding benefits from unionized stores is against the law.

At least 366 U.S. Starbucks stores (out of 9,600) have voted to unionize since 2021. #WorkersUnited will file unfair labor practice charges against Starbucks with the NLRB.

I think the bobbin has brown or gold-ish thread and there’s white loaded up top. Interesting look. Speaking of bobbins, don’t they look like little mystery modules?

In the field in Gaspesie, Quebec, joining my team who have been here much longer working much harder... here for research into impacts of spruce budworm impact on soil carbon. These are "frass traps", although this late in the year they're catching needles, not budworm frass!

The most consternation and rage I ever caused in my parents was an incident about three or four years ago, when they stopped in for a visit.

We were chatting about something and my mobile phone started ringing.

I ignored it.

"Are you going to answer that?"

I told them I did not recognize the number. This might have well been slapping them across the face.

"Why aren't you answering! Stop!"

They told me to stop fooling around, like this was a joke or something.

They freaked out.

Dawno mnie było tu bo teraz mam psa. Może i wyglada jak mop ale za to ma skarpetę.
