@girlonthenet people are happier after an ice cold beer and a menthol cigarette according to a study of alcoholic smokers conducted jointly by the Council of Industrial Breweries and Phillip Morris.

Fun bullshit of the day… this ‘study’ is actually a survey of people who are currently cheating, done by a website specifically designed for those looking for secret affairs.

Pinched from somewhere else, but this was just too good not to share.

Yes I'm a woman who believes in crystals and that their vibrations affect our lives!

Car-brains: I need this $60k SUV because I have to go grocery shopping and have a kid to haul around.

Me: *Picks up firewood, $150 of groceries, and a 12 pk of beer in one trip on an ebike with my kid along for the ride.*

sexual implications. the one good tweet from my old private twitter

[this actually happened to me, in 2019]

Cute girl: So. Before we proceed. How do you feel about Marx?
Me (nervous): Umm look I guess I'm a socialist but I don't really know enough about the political theory behind it
Her: ...
Me: I'm sorry
Her: ...
Her: Marks. Can I leave marks on your skin

Hey, web friends. I usually don't ask to share my posts, but this one is a bit different. I would appreciate it if you could help me boost this one 🫶

Ocena - 8/10

This is reported as it should be, Chemours is a spinoff of DuPont. I think that too often large corporations have shed themselves of the financial burdens of a toxic legacy by spinoffs that are then allowed to fall into bankruptcy.

"A new investigation by human rights experts appointed by the United Nations has expressed alarm at evidence of pollution from a North Carolina PFAS manufacturing plant, describing it as “alleged human rights violations and abuses against residents”.
The ongoing PFAS crisis in North Carolina has been linked to a Fayetteville Works plant operated by Chemours, a chemical giant that was spun off from DuPont in 2015." theguardian.com/environment/20

- kobiety w Polsce uzyskały prawa wyborcze (Dekret o ordynacji wyborczej do Sejmu Ustawodawczego - Dz.U. 1918 nr 18 poz. 46)

Today happens to be Hulse's birthday (again, he was very deserving of their prize).

The Nobel used to note this every year, along with a casual mention of Jocelyn Bell Burnell's discovery.

What they always failed to mention was that both Burnell and Hulse were 24 year old grad students when they made their discoveries. Hulse is a man, so he got a share of the prize. But Burnell is a woman, so the prize was given to her supervisor.

They don't post it anymore.

The beavers are busy - winter is here already.
Slowly but surely this beaver family has been felling a dozen of poplars growing around the pine plantation. Starting on the pines now too - making room for new poplar growth.

Bus services cut by more than 80% in parts of England and Wales since 2008, finds study

> Research of timetables reveals ‘silent war’ on bus users outside London

Driving potential passengers to drive cars.

My dad surrendered his license in his late 80s, so cancelling his local bus route meant he could only shop nearby and couldn't use city facilities and services.

It's funny that they told me not to trust wikipedia in high school when at this point it's the only link in the first page of google results that was written by humans intending to convey information
