Last Christmas a got a #cycling computer with GPS, which means that it's been recording most of my routes for a full year. I learned about the total altitude gain (more than 200km - that's from sea level to "space") and the total distance (15,000km). Recording speed, distance, altitude, etc, is certainly motivating but I've decided not to engage in a race against my younger self.
This is picture, taken today, shows the same Beaver-formed meadow that I've shared some time before.
Strange facehugger-type growths on the acorns of a native oak. These are galls produced by the larvae of the knopper wasp, one of 30 types of gall wasp which are known to lay their eggs on oaks in the UK. #Insects #Wasps #Entomology.
A potem przyszło chrześcijaństwo i przywłaszczyło sobie te obchody. Dla nich miało to sens. Wszak trudno jest przekonać ludzi, by porzucili swoją wiarę.

If you are looking for a fun post-Christmas project, almost exactly a year ago I've shown how to make your own AA battery trickle charger.
"The FDA believes this wasn't just a matter of poor hygiene at the factory. The lead was deliberately added to the cinnamon. They say it was "economically motivated," a way of making the cinnamon cheaper.
This is remarkable. A pouch of applesauce contains something like one gram of cinnamon, which costs less than a quarter of a cent on the global market. But it's cheaper to use less cinnamon and make up the weight with lead?
What's even worse is that the FDA suspects this is a routine practice—but only for cinnamon shipped to poor countries. It was only caught this time because the cinnamon supplier screwed up and accidentally delivered a tainted batch for applesauce that was destined for the US, where we have the ability to detect lead contamination. Everyone else is out of luck."
