You know what would be nice?

An "open firmware" project, where people produce and share FOSS firmware for common household devices, replacing the manufacturer's firmware with a decrapified version.

A smart TV? Reflash it with FOSS firmware, which removes tracking, calls to the manufacturer's servers, and any Internet-connected services that you don't want?

A printer? It's now yours. No ink subscription, or need for an app to print remotely.

And so on.

A man can dream, eh.

We went out for a walk just before the sun set this afternoon.
A bright patch of moss on a wall was lit up in the last of the sunshine. Lichens share the space but in much more muted colours.

Czy istnieje w Polsce jakieś środowisko anarcho-wikipedystów? Wikipedia jest chyba najważniejszym cyfrowym commons na świecie, i chciałbym sieędowiedzieć, jak wyglądają szanse, żeby w zorganizowany sposób zwiększyć tam obecność naszej perspektywy.

Dziś zaś odwiedziłem #Bydgoszcz gdzie wskutek braków tamtejszego MZK tymczasowo na pomoc przyszło lokalne stowarzyszenie miłośników komunikacji miejskiej. Dzięki temu na trzech brygadach (albo jak mówi się w Bydgoszczy: kolejnościach (co.)) można spotkać autobusy zabytkowe. Co prawda dziś na 79/1 zamiast zabytku kursował zwyczajny Mercedes, ale na 52/1 i 89/4 dzielnie śmigały wozy z lat 90.

I'm not seeding separately. I planted right in the grow bins. We'll see if that works.

Using Kratky method. So I've poured as much water and nutrients as each plant needs and I'm leaving it alone for a couple of months. No pumps, no aerators, etc. Just a food safe plastic 5-gallon bin with water & nutrients and nothing else.

I also added more light. So before I had three LED T5s on both levels. Now I have four on top and five on the bottom.

I'm using rockwool held in with pool noodle sections (the light green circles on top). I'm going to be looking into using other mediums here in the future.

Taka wolna sobota to nie jest głupi pomysł. Można sporo pociągnąć do przodu. :D A na dodatek po niej jest niedziela i też można coś zrobić, a co się uda to się zobaczy. :D
I jeszcze chyba jest plan, żeby iść do sąsiadów na planszówki. Tym bardziej spoko! :D
