Just remember, when you call a bike shop and a woman answers the phone, she just might be more knowledgable about bicycles than you are. :blobcatfingerguns:

I refuse to write that something was posted on "X, formerly known as Twitter" and will stick to using "Twitter, later known as X".

New blog: Should a role require a certain level of technical understanding?

When you say "tomorrow" soon after midnight you mean:

@androcat The worst part is that people will inevitably have to start using LLMs to handle the volume of trash they get from LLMs, and it will all be LLMs talking to each other, doing nothing purposeful, and burning a rain forest's worth of electricity for no good reason except that a few idiot VCs of the Andreeson variety get some returns.

Received our first AI-generated security vulnerability report at the museum today. Wasted about an hour’s worth of staff time double checking it wasn’t a real concern before filing it in the circular bin.

We’re just a museum with a website, and the stupid fucking LLMs are wasting our time with this shit. I imagine the open source maintainers are drowning in this shit.

Never before has a technology wasted so many people’s time so utterly. Fuck the grifters trying to sell this as “AI”.

The price you have to pay for such beautiful sun dogs is -35C windchill (I ran out in a hoodie to get this picture and WOW that's cold)

We should rename Homo sapiens because 'sapiens' means 'wise, sensible, discerning' and most Homo sapiens I've met have been fuckin dumbasses. (Maybe my judgement is just being clouded by my idiot cow-irkers.)

We should be Homo callipyge (beautiful buttocks) because our bipedal stance means we do have big nice arses compared to other animals.

(Yeah, mixin Greek and Latin. Fuck the police.)
