An old door and window in Bogotá's Candelaria district.
With the news that Google is going to "supercharge" Maps with "AI" (and the poor results I've had with Apple Maps), I finally checked out OpenStreetMap: https://www.openstreetmap.org/
OMG THIS IS AMAZING. So much more useful detail! Incredible! Going to dig up an app for my phone and use this for a while to see how it compares to the ad- and AI-ridden nonsense.
My accountant's software decided to treat an IP address found in PDF invoice item as financial data. It took 3 initial octets and summed up a 147€ invoice as 65,108.42€.
Going forward, that's my new go-to argument for IPv6 #IPV6 adoption!
Because there are so many more cis people than trans people, most of the time when someone "clocks" a person as trans, that person will actually be cis - most positives will be false positives. We're now seeing the grim outcomes of this basic math in Utah: https://www.assignedmedia.org/breaking-news/ut-cisgender-athlete-police-protection-threats
The whole #IdąPsięta pack on a walk. This is a rare sight – usually Bruno decides to stay home in such weather.
This is a very brave dog, going for a walk in what he believes to be a blizzard, but is just some light snow falling from the sky.
There's lots of interesting stuff underground at the edge of a #wetland meadow. Layers of coal are a few hundred meters below, but we hope they won't reach that deep. They come back with black noses and feet anyway.
I was in Seattle visiting friends and on the way back we impromptu wanted to visit Mt. Rainer. I had realized that the moon phase was new and the galaxy core would still be visible so I got my camera out and took this in a random part of the park. This remains to be one of the cleanest photo of the galaxy core I've gotten so far.

Ignorance works both ways. It can make simple concepts seem like magic, like how my mom calls me a Computer Genius because I helped her log into Gmail once.
But it also works to make complicated things look simple.
Yesterday I boosted a video posted by @Green_Footballs about the invention of the blue LED and how that revolutionized our world. I remember when those came out and how I thought "...ummm, dude, it's blue light bulb..."

if I had a nickel for every time a comic book ape was friends with Fidel Castro I'd have two nickels, which isn't much but still funny that it happened twice
@emill1984 jako że pracuję w tym biznesie, odniosę się do tego wpisu:
Aplikacje to najgorsza forma zamawiania usług.
Living in the #wetlands of #Polesia (also spelled #Polesie) in #EasternPoland. Surrounded by #bogs and #forests, trying not to fuck up surrounding nature too much.
Taking care of a small pack of #dogs – #IdąPsięta.
Luddite working with hi-tech.
#RuralBroadband provider by accident. Starting a small LoRaWAN project to monitor our wetlands. Coding in #Python. Dealing with dirty data, cleaning them when time allows.
#Atheist. I don't *believe* in #science – science is the *only* thing that protects us from belief.
Fuck nazis.
My account on Twitter is still up, for good reasons. https://twitter.com/szescstopni
I check facts before I toot.
I sometimes toot in Polish.
Zdolny, ale leniwy.
