The number of observations submitted to the #CitizenScience platform @inaturalist is outpacing the rate at which the organisms can be identified. @callaghanct @thomasmesaglio &co call for more experts to identify organisms on iNaturalist #PLOSBiology

I am helping with #neuroscience research using #Unity3D for animal studies. Unity is powerful, and I have had no trouble getting a free educational license, but still, it is a license. Is anyone doing animal studies (3D #VR) with a license-free system like #Godot (#GodotEngine)? I would be interested in hearing about the pros and cons. Note that some of our applications require multiple external displays (at least four, ideally six) running at high frame rates (at least 120 Hz, ideally 240 Hz) showing enough 3D geometry that we need LOD management.

So apparenntly at least one major ISP here in Israel blocks mas.to with a global firewall .. I wonder why that happened.
I've changed the default compression settings of my image editor to make images I'm posting here even smaller. Lower quality, but saving the server loads.
I love this trick airline pilots use to go to sleep – counting sheep jumping over the runway.

Someone asked me today about my plans for the Fall and it took me a moment to realize she meant my plans for the Autumn and not the collapse of civilization.

All these new servers/users/followers are filling my poor little single-user instance up with data fast. There's so many of you!
Already knocked myself offline trying to move everything to S3, and failing at it.
I know what I did wrong, so I'll be trying again later today after sanity checking my process.
I can only imagine what it must be like to run a big instance. o7 to the community admins out there. Thank you for your service.

I am at a hair salon... the ladies here are talking about Mastodon.
Am ded.
@jjcelery Thanks. I won't be transferring all my tweets – just this one thread. I just need something that'll take all my text/markdown/anything I can understand and automatically post it. Doesn't have to be wordpress of course, I;m just using what I have at the moment.
So far the source is text, the result is here: https://szescstopni.wordpress.com/2022/11/10/lies-about-polesia/
I'm doing something crazy – manually converting (and expanding) a Twitter thread to a text file that gets posted on my old wordpress blog. Does wordpress accept markdown? Any #WebAutomation gurus who could give advice?

Instead of an #Introduction I'll just link to a thing I'm working on now that that blue bird crashed into our window. A thread of lies about living in the wetlands and forests of Western Polesia in Eastern Poland https://szescstopni.wordpress.com/2022/11/10/lies-about-polesia/

I made my qoto account months ago, but haven’t really spent time in the fediverse until this week. Good to be considerate to those who have built a community and culture here for years.
