I'm lucky that none of this lot are too bad with fireworks, Coinneach tends to bark at them so he will be wearing my neck warmer over his ears which settles him down, they've had some chamomile tea porridge with their dinner and some more cooling for them to have before bed. All the dogs are allowed upstairs in our bedroom tonight so they will be happy about that!

It is 7 degrees Celsius today. It was -20 a couple of days ago. There is nothing good or normal about this. Someone asked me if I’m enjoying the spring weather and was surprised when I said I hope it ends really soon. We need it to be cold so the trees don’t blossom and we have no fruit this summer because of it. We need the cold to kill the bugs which kill the trees. I have a hobby where I take a series of exposures, convert them to black and white, tint each one with different colour, and then combine them into a single image, so the colour of a pixel depends on how it changed over time. The colours are taken from the spectrum of sunlight, so it often looks as if a rainbow sun were shining on a black and white world. Here's one of mount Fuji, taken over about 4 hours.

It's a really nice post, relatable. Ironically enough it's about how one can feel left out-- even when those making it happen might not be aware of what they are doing.
