I know my phone has more computing power than what got us to the moon. But, if autocorrect was piloting that spacecraft, there'd be three corpses halfway to Alpha Centauri right now.

I had misunderstood what "Checks & Balances" meant in my civics education. Apparently it means that the balance is tipped in favor of whoever can write the biggest checks to legislators & justices.

I would encourage formation of an LGBTQ church to deny all kinds of design, restaurant, dog walking... services to straight couples on the basis of religion. If the right can bring fake cases with fake standing before the judiciary, let's give them some real cases from our side.

Our house is about 250 metres higher than Lake Ontario.

Yesterday, it was hazy here but tolerable.

But I had to go down to the Lake area, and the smoke was really thick down there.

I was coughing and my eyes were itching.

That 250 metres costs me about 10 days in shorter growing season but I was certainly glad of it yesterday

Right now governments are "encouraging" changes, "incentivizing" changes, tax coding improvements, encouraging "carbon footprint" measures.

THe Japanese sank the fleet at Pearl Harbor.

The US didnt just "incentivize" tanks, they BUILT THEM.

Our demand now is BUILD WIND AND SOLAR -> NOW, all of it, more han enough to replace every need that oil fuels meet now.

Daddy said some dude at the feed store complimented him on his mad rope skills today 🤣

Apparently, he was tying down the barrel of feed into his truck bed, like you know, a munter here and a half hitch there to get everything all secure, and the guy working there was like, “damn, you are good with that rope.”

One advantage of drinking instant coffee is that why you pour in half & half that you didn't know had gone bad (and it curdles), it doesn't kill you to pour it down the drain like it would if you made good coffee from beans.
