Ignoring us for so long was a terrible choice.

What started as a small 4-pages comic about the adventure of Martin, an 11th-12th century archbishop of Polish Gniezno, with a raid of the still pagan Pomeranians, is turning into a full-size comic book about Polish-Pomeranian affairs.
Since I'm a professional archaeologist specialising in the Middle Ages, I'm an amateur artist with no formal training in the field. This is an experiment for me. Keep fingers crossed.

News from the #Spycimierz excavation of the 11th-12th century ring fort.
We are still working on the remains of the rampart. Now it seems clear that we are dealing with a so-called box construction (in Polish we call it "izbice"). Boxes were built from horizontal logs and filled with sand, stones or clay. In our case, a kind of stockade was added just before the wall.

Szanowni czytelnicy, proszę Was o podpisanie petycji w sprawie odrzucenia nowelizacji ustawy o ochronie zabytków, której rezultatem będzie niekontrolowana destrukcja dziedzictwa archeologicznego. Projekt błyskawicznie przeszedł przez 3 czytania i komisję sejmową. Odrzucono poprawki. Jako poselski nie był konsultowany społecznie. Ma wsparcie Ministerstwa, w tym ministra Sellina. Negatywne opinie wyraziły o nim środowiska archeologów i specjalistów ochrony dziedzictwa.

Jestem z siebie dumy. Udało mi się dziś założyć konto na i zainstalować odpowiednie apki do #pixelfed i #lemmy (szmer.info). Teraz to powoli ogarnę. Wszystkim osobom, które śledziły moje wpisy tutaj i zapytania w tej sprawie dziękuję!

P.S. jest ktoś tam na tych serwerach stąd? Miło byłoby obserwować i tam.

I'm very excited because I was again able to see a Normal Shock Wave on the wing of an E170 I was flying on. It's this very subtle vertical shadow in the middle of the wing. NSW happens when part of the airflow over the wing is supersonic, while the rest is still subsonic. In the transition area between supersonic and subsonic, a standing wave becomes barely visible. @pandora @revk @neil And it gets worse. They’ve now released the new App into the iOS App Store. So I upgraded the app on my phone, launched the app and….. it white screens for about 15 seconds then crashes. So now we have ZERO ways to read the CGM. 🤦🏻‍♂️

If translated literally, the German title for the new Mission: Impossible film would be “Unmöglicher Auftrag: Koppelnavigation Teil Eins“

I don't remember much before the '80s, but I assume I reacted similarly. You?

Hornet mimic hoverfly. I had a beautiful couple in the garden floating around my blackberries and apple tree but I was only able to capture the (shorter) female. Still, what a stunning creature!!

A juvenile Reticulated Python (Malayopython reticulatus) spotted at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore, on 16 July 2023. Plenty of visitors were excited to see it.

These pythons can be found in urban areas, hunting rats in drains and canals.

W nowej wersji #mObywatel użyli tych samych ludzików ze stocka co ja w swoim pierwszym większym projekcie strony internetowej rok temu. 🥲

TIL that there are a lot of English words that have been borrowed into German. Especially in advertising and product names, it seems. The transition is not always a smooth one, however.

Bane byłby dumny.

From 1940s-1980, the wealthiest paid 70-94% marginal tax rates. Zero of them went broke from taxation. Zero of them left the USA. All remained exceedingly wealthy, manufacturing boomed, AND we had the strongest middle class growth in US History.

Let's do that again. #TaxTheRich
