Drogi blipie,
#RODO #UODO
I have an old #Amazon Kindle which needs replacing.
I do also like physical books and enjoy buying from bookshops, but sometimes like to read on the kindle. Great to download an extract to get a sense of a book before committing.
However, apart from books I do not use Amazon.
Any alternatives anyone can recommend?
Decent reading environment and ability to download extracts?
Have toyed with trying to download PDFs from Guttenberg but reading experience has been frustrating within #Kindle

I find it incredible that the Organic Chemistry textbook I learnt from many moons ago in University is now freely available via OpenStax! This was the first textbook I read from cover-to-cover, devouring the problem sets at the end—and was the beginning of my love affair with the central science.
What a great boon to the chemistry education community, and a wonderful way to honor John McMurry’s son. #Chemistry #Chemiverse
Recently I see more and more retoots which are a part of a thread, but I can't see the thread on my instance and have to go to the instance where the toot originated to see it. Are the instances of origin blocked by my instance? If so, how can I check what instatnes my instance is blocking? And how do I check how shitty *my* instance is?
My instance (spore.social) is back up at last!
The last year of socials and apps has certainly driven home the needs for redundancy and regular (manual?) backups of connections, data, etc. In some ways, I feel like we are going back to the early internet when we were all clear we couldn't trust anyone or anything.

Fuck nazis.
My account on Twitter is still up, for good reasons. https://twitter.com/szescstopni
I check facts before I toot.
I sometimes toot in Polish.
Zdolny, ale leniwy.
