4 October 1927 | Two Polish twin sisters were born in Komarów in Poland - Maria and Czesława Krajewska.

They were registered in Auschwitz on 5 February 1943. Maria (no. 34425) perished on 23 May. Her sister Czesława (no. 34426) died on 23 July. 

They were 15 years old.

I think I'm still in recovery from learning a few weeks ago that Canadian fossil fuel companies tell people that because it's "natural" gas that they produce, burning it can't hurt the environment. And people believe them. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, remember that and 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Dostałam prezent i oniemiałam z zachwytu. Powodem było zastosowane opakowanie. Piękne (pomysł zaczerpnięty z japońskiej tradycji furoshiki). Powoli zbliża się czas prezentów, można przejrzeć szafy i zaskoczyć obdarowanych.

Furoshiki zostało zaimplementowane na grunt zachodnioeuropejski, obejmuje upcykling. Ludzie mogą tworzyć własne ubrania z resztek z projektów lub ubrań, które nie są już przydatne. Oprócz pakowania prezentów, te wszechstronne tkaniny są powszechnie używane jako torby na zakupy, koce piknikowe, obrusy i wystrój wnętrz.

I have had to explain to a few people that “get well soon” or “are you feeling better now” does not quite work with a stroke.

Damage is done. Recovery may in part be my brain working around some, and my speech is pretty much back to normal now, but I am, of course “feeling fine”. For more serious cases it is a matter of learning to cope with the damage, not “getting better”.

What amazes me is I was not given *any* information on strokes, what they are, what happens next, why the meds, etc.

Na jakiej mapie online (albo w apce) najlepiej szukać szlaków turystycznych, które są na kolorowo namazane na drzewach w lasach?

Co i rusz przy hasłach w Wikipedii dotyczących np. rezerwatów czy pomników przyrody trafiam na info w rodzaju „dojazd żółtym szlakiem”, ale którędy ten szlak prowadzi i jak się na niego dostać?

Mapy, które znalazłem zawierają zazwyczaj tylko informacje o dłuższych trasach, a ja szukam raczej info o lokalnych.

Z kolei Lasy Państwowe mają spoko mapę leśnych dróg, ale na niej nie widać, które naprawdę nadają się dla turystyki rowerowej, a przez które przedostanie się tylko traktor czy harvester.
