She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt Ghetto on 18 December 1943. She did not survive.

I'll admit, I never really *got* Conway's Game of Life.
It was one of those things which I was vaguely aware of but thought was hideously complicated.
After reading the biography of von Neumann, I suddenly got it.
And, to test my knowledge, I wrote a couple of dozen lines of Python to implement it.
Pretty pleased that I both understood the concepts and was able to knock up an implementation myself.

You can say Substack should host Nazis, but don't pretend there's some "free speech" principle to it. Substack has a strict ban on pornography. Welcoming Nazis while banning sex workers isn't a principled stand, it's a choice, an expression that you like the former and dislike the latter.

Also, federating means throwing your users data to them; not really something you'd want either. As Stallman once said (and he was completely right): "Facebook isn't a social media website. Mianowicie przywrócenie listy czasopism punktowanych do tego co było za Gowina (tymczasowo oczywiście). Potem ułożenie nowej listy przez Komisję ds. ewaluacji nauki. To ma duuuuże znaczenie dla naukowców, piszę to właśnie jako były adiunkt.
