Wczoraj w końcu zalogowałam się na swoje IKP, żeby zarejestrować się na szczepienie.
Niestety sukcesu nie było, bo na dzień dobry dostałam do zaakceptowania warunki korzystania z serwisu. No i niby standardowa procedura itp. itd. i kto by się tym właściwie przejmował.
Ale* na samiusieńkim początku, w definicjach stosowanych pojęć zobaczyłam coś, czego chyba nie powinno w ogóle tam być.
Paragraf 2, punkty 2. i 6.
Niech mi ktoś ładnie wytłumaczy po co tam są definicje, czym są aplikacje Google Fit i Apple Health, które poza tym jednym miejscem nigdzie więcej już nie pojawiają się w tym dokumencie?
Czy to jest jakieś lokowanie produktu** czy może ostrzeżenie, że apki mojeIKP używamy w telefonie z iOS-em/androidem na własne ryzyko i odpowiedzialność bo GAFAM-ki wszystko śledzą?
Bo sformułowanie punktu 6. jest jak dla mnie co najmniej niepokojące, choć nie koniecznie dziwne. A dokładniej chodzi o fragment ,,Aplikacja Zdrowie (Apple Health) - aplikacja [...] służąca do zbierania danych zdrowotnych z telefonu [...] i innych używanych już aplikacji zainstalowanych na telefonie z systemem iOS."

I just spoke with a woman who years ago made a special appointment for me to show her daughter some things from the collection she was very interested in (back when we had a minimum age requirement of 18 in the reading room). Said daughter is now applying to colleges and cites that in her essay as a formative experience in wanting to study history. If you need me for the rest of the day, I will be on Cloud 9.

I had a conversation with a researcher (mathematician) today about the worrying decrease in the number of women applying to degrees in mathematics (he was talking about in this happening in Spain). He wondered what he could do, as a postdoc, to help.
The conversation felt productive,
and we touched on issues I feel matter to other minorities as well, but I felt terribly ill-prepared to give good suggestions.
I turn to the Fediverse for help. I would like to educate myself, broaden my horizons, and build a list of actionable things to mention the next time this type of conversation arises.
Any tips? Suggestions of things to read, and to think about are quite welcome!
At some point I, attempting to broaden the analogies (I know, danger, danger), I proposed to compare the situation to that of of open access publishing: it is important that people who have already established positions take issue with the publishing standards of the industry, as they have much more voice (and freedom) to act and commit to boycotts, say, than early-career researchers do. (My point being that it is much harder for minorities to make themselves heard than it is for people currently in established positions to give them voice and put pressure on policy makers.)
