Myślę, że tak jak przez całe życie nabywamy różnych umiejętności, począwszy od chodzenia, tak powinniśmy się nauczyć sprawnie reagować na porażkę, kryzys. Taki trening jak na lekcji w-f. Umieć łagodzić skutki upadku. Stanąć na nogi, odzyskać równowagę. I dotyczy to nie tyle ruchowej sprawności, co sfery psychiki. Najpierw człowiek musi sobie sam pomóc - musi wiedzieć, jak i do kogo się zwrócić o wsparcie. To jest ten pierwszy krok po jego stronie. I się nie bać.

The basement of a medieval tower house in Northumberland had a corrugated iron Nissen air-raid shelter jammed into it during WW2. No-one has the faintest idea why, it's absolutely miles from even a remote chance of being bombed. The place was next to a stately home, I suspect somebody had too much time on their hands. It's now an important historic site, albeit well hidden and under lock and key.

Biznes nie rozmawia o etyce. Biznes rozmawia o możliwościach. Rządy w Polsce lubią możliwości, bo jest się czym pochwalić na konferencji.

Już teraz rada jest przedstawiana jako złożona z Polaków, którzy coś osiągnęli na świecie i dlatego jest fajna.

Nie, nie jest. Fajna rada uwzględnia, że społeczeństwo nie składa się tylko z biznesu.

Nie powiem że pan Gawkowski mnie rozczarowuje, bo nie miałam wobec niego żadnych oczekiwań - to człowiek o dużych związkach z biznesem tech. Afiliacja partyjna niczego tu nie zmienia, ale niektórym może zamydlić oczy."

Well, I just got a call from the trike specialist shop re the #CargoQuad saga. I'm closer to getting it back. At this point it just needs new tires and I'm going with an insert for puncture resistance so that will take a while to order in all the stuff in the right size. They're a pain in the ass to install so labor price is higher. But getting stranded as a disabled cyclist really sucks so I gotta pay the #CripTax

just so you know its not all beer n skittles... headed over to location of instruments (sitting on seafloor waiting to be told to come to surface - clever eh!) and the entire bay was clear of ice ...except the place where the instruments were. We can't release them with this much ice as there's a chance by the time the instruments get to surface it will get stuck under ice. 😐 #cryosphere #oceanography

A quick Mastodon #introduction: I'm a physicist who studies artificial light in the outdoor environment (closely connected to #LightPollution).

I work with all sorts of instruments ranging from visual observations from citizen scientists to satellite radiometers.

I will definitely "toot" about #LightPollution research, and will sometimes post photos from my work (like this photo I took of Berlin's old Tegel airport).

NASA stated that the Ingenuity helicopter has officially taken its last flight. 72 out of 5 planned flights is pretty darn good.

So I got this new(used) car and it is one that has digital readouts on the radio console and the clock tells the time and the time is CORRECT so I no longer have to wonder what it is like to live in the future.

#DogsOfMastodon; I have been assaulted with pesticide fogging that drifts to my yard all summer. Now my beloved golden retriever, at 6 years old, has an aggressive malignant brain tumor. A type of cancer that is not genetic but triggered by environmental toxins. Does anyone have experience with a dog dying following pesticide exposure? Or know anything about finding a veterinary pathologist to perform a necropsy?
