Morning everyone! Here’s another #space #picture for you all! This one is the Cygnus wall, it’s a part of the recognisable North America Nebula . It is an area of star formation which is about 20 light years long! I used a Dual band narrowband filter to cut through the Birmingham light pollution and moonlight to capture this shot
Scope was my 200mm f/5 Altair newt aka big bucket! Camera was the awesome Altair hypercam 26C

Public Money, Public Code 🇪🇺
Why is software created using taxpayers’ money not released as Free Software?
We want legislation requiring that publicly financed software developed for the public sector be made publicly available under a Free and Open Source Software licence. If it is public money, it should be public code as well.
Code paid by the people should be available to the people!
Evidence just keeps mounting that we didn’t do nearly enough to stop the spread of COVID, but prominent minimizers have staked their reputations — and built huge audiences — on denial. That’s why their opposition to public health measures is so entrenched. They’ll never admit it.
There’s also a political component to denial. Operatives who work for right-wing, capital-aligned organizations — or get funding from them — will never accept the body of evidence out of fear of a return of "big govt"
Hi! I finally made it!
My name is Randall Dameron and I am a graphic designer and illustrator.
I've spent the past several years as a graphic designer for anything from universities to beekeeping.
I am working to get more jobs in children's book illustration or any job that allows me to help tell exciting stories.
Dividing cells stained microtubules. Expansion microscopy sample prepared and imaged Sujan Ghimire.
A few years ago I made this flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!
So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.
This is why it's important to boost good posts and use hashtags - the fediverse is fragmented and harder to search by nature.

Today I fixed my notes of two #SystemsBiology theoretical classes.
This one was about the circadian rhythms and I learnt about an interesting experiment which suggested that the superchiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the hypothalamus might be involved, since transplanting the fetal SCN in arrhytmic mice seemed to restore it. Not only that, but the periodicity of the rhythm depends on the donor!
