looking at the intended use of the "distinguish" template, it is presumably there to handle typos of cosmetology

In 2023, Russia plans to resume ICBM launches from Kapustin Yar. These are normally launched toward Sary-Shagan in Kazakhstan to test re-entry vehicles. But since the last such test, in Nov 2019, TPNW treaty come into force. Kazakhstan is a party russianforces.org/blog/2022/12 1/

Is geopolitics a grift? Is it a mind palace for reactionaries? Both? Why do geopoliticians blow off climate change and environmental degradation? And what did Nazis, in particular, see appealing in geopolitics? I sat down w/ Daniel Immerwahr (author of How to Hide an Empire) for a two-part podcast discussion that is definitely worth your time. Here's a sample youtu.be/HGwYNigNk_I

Yes it's me. As proof: here is a photo of me being upset at a sign.

@harcel
That's just the swedish press ethical standard, without a conviction in court you got to be pretty famous to get you name for in the paper for harassment. Don't expect a national broadsheet to challenge the guidelines on press ethics over some curiosity story about a interpersonal conflict at a university

Lynching is a common form of violence in Latin America. How common?

Today, we release the first cross-national dataset on reported «Lynching in Latin America» (LYLA) from 2010-2019:

We found evidence of 2818 cases.

@kallekn

@russianforces
I really appreciate you have the stamina to keep speaking this humane perspective in public Pavel!

But I can also appreciate the objection (and here I am reading people very generously) that just speaking of almost utopic futures is not that useful.

What concrete conclusions on immediate goals do you draw from the dream of a democratic Russia?

@jaztrophysicist
But if you stop now will it still count as a Christmas miracle in the next report to CNRS?

@PopovaProf Still, their anti-war position has been very clear and explicit from the beginning. Their position could not possibly have been misunderstood by someone who watches regularly or even just occasionally their broadcasts. More broadly, revoking a license to a media should be done only in the most extreme of circumstances, such as unrepentant hate speech or call to violence. They've been doing the contrary. It's really a wrong decision, in principle and in context.

@audreytruschke
Sorry if I misunderstand what you meant, but that link goes to a form to register and not a copy of the slides. I'm really curious to see the slides though :(

@madwonk May the odds of the (academic?) job market be ever in your favour!

@madwonk I though the point was experiencing the feeling of realising you are in debt without any obvious job prospects?

@PopovaProf
I think I get your point: a large part of Russians seem to unquestioning support Putin, is that what you mean?

Because I must say I find the formulation "they respond [...] collectively" very confusing, it sounds like she accuses the pollster is talking to a choir...

The statement following the quote is not much better: "they support whatever is thought to serve the collective interest" sounds to me as more or less what you expect from anyone responding to a question about how to resolve a interstate war: by expressing their understanding of what constitutes the common good of the country.

Only the "expressed by the president" hints at a different interpretation, and it took me a good while to get to the guess I opened with.
