@vancew Welcome to Qoto and the Fediverse!

@abde Don't worry too much, there are many others like you right now as there've been a lot of newcomers lately.

Just take your time and explore the settings too for some nice features. Be sure to check the 'About this server' page too to see what the custom modifications are on this specific Mastodon server. :)

@abde Welcome to Qoto and the Fediverse!

@lydiaconwell A long time ago. It didn't age well by the way.

@lydiaconwell I didn't notice it either... but then I don't watch EastEnders. ;)

@gioypi Gracias. ;)

@mc With soap bubbles I actually prefer in color. It's so nice to see all the colorly swirls in them.

@derickflorian @freemo I'm sure I'm going to regret this soon. ;) And thanks!

@mc @freemo Exsqueeze me, it is a Saint Nicholas hat! And you'll change your mind once you taste our kruidnoten, speculaas, and taai-taai that's associated with this event!

@mc I dunno, I rather like those soap bubbles floating in the air.

@drdrowland Pixelfed.social is a bit overloaded because of all the new users. Probably best to have an account on a smaller instance there.

Or host your own! :D

@gioypi I'm more of a matte screen person myself, to be honest. ;) But thanks!

@STORM I don't think it'll sway the people who have settled nicely on the Fediverse. Bluesky stands to be yet another Big Tech Project.

@wood Yes, -now-.

Twitter isn't going to be THAT nice.

Or do you really want an insane millionnaire having a say in this?

@admitsWrongIfProven If you want to filter languages, go to settings > Preferences > Other and scroll down. Select the languages you'd prefer to see, most non-yourlanguage instances might then be filtered out.

@admitsWrongIfProven Set the feed to pause. Turn on the slow mode in the settings > preferences. It's the sane thing to do anyway!

@lydiaconwell What if one didn't care about any theme tunes? :P

@lydiaconwell By grabthar's hammer... what a savings!

@wood I think more along the lines of the browser wars.

Microsoft kicked out Netscape with their Internet Explorer. Implemented their own standards to compete with Firefox.. you got websites with wildly different layouts depending on which browser you used.

Don't believe for a thing that big corporations are going to play nice.
